What’s New
Two retention-focused features that make every subsequent route smarter than the last: a stop memory engine that tracks everywhere you’ve been, and a trip soundtrack that picks the right playlist for every drive based on your route’s mood, terrain, and season.
-
Already Been There Memory Free
Stoprover now remembers every stop you’ve visited across all your routes. Each stop card shows a green “✨ New to you” badge on fresh stops and a grey “✓ Been here” on places you’ve already visited — so you can instantly see what’s genuinely new on each trip. Stop memory is tracked automatically from the moment you generate a route, no opt-in required. Works across sessions on the same device.
-
Explore Mode Premium
A premium toggle above the Find My Route button. When enabled, Stoprover filters out every stop you’ve previously visited before building your route — guaranteeing that every suggestion is genuinely new. Ideal for repeat visitors to the same region who want to keep discovering.
-
Trip Soundtrack Free
After every route, a playlist card appears scored to the specific mood of your drive — chosen from a library of 30 curated playlists across 10 categories including Ohio Country, Ohio Craft, Forest Bathing, Epic Road Anthem, and eight seasonal Windows Down variants. Tap Open in Spotify or Apple Music to start listening in one tap. No account connection, no OAuth, no setup — the playlist is ready the moment you arrive. Playlist selection is weighted by terrain, POI type, adventure mode, and the current season, so a Hocking Hills detour gets a different soundtrack than a Columbus brewery crawl.
The biggest update since launch. Four new features ship together: user accounts with passwordless login, automatic route history, one-tap route sharing, and web push notifications. All designed to make Stoprover feel like a proper travel companion rather than a one-shot tool.
-
User Accounts Free
Create an account with just your email — no passwords. We send a magic link that logs you in instantly. Once signed in, your saved routes and route history sync across every device you use. Tap the account icon in the top-right of the home screen to get started.
-
Route History Free
Every route you generate is now automatically logged — no manual saving required. Tap the clock icon in the header to browse past trips. Each entry shows origin, destination, stops, duration, and your original query. Hit Replay to re-run a route, or Delete to remove individual entries. Logged-in users get cross-device history (up to 100 routes); device-only users get the last 50.
-
Share a Route Premium
Generate a permanent shareable link from any route in one tap. The shared view shows a full Mapbox map, stop cards with category icons and addresses, estimated trip stats, and a Google Maps deep-link for each stop. Anyone can view a shared link — no account needed. Share from the results screen (instant, no saving required) or from any saved route card.
-
Push Notifications Free
Opt in to web push notifications after your first route. Currently used for re-engagement nudges when you haven’t planned a trip in a while. Works in Chrome and Edge on desktop, and Chrome on Android. iOS users can enable push by adding Stoprover to their Home Screen first. Notifications are infrequent — we respect your attention.
Stripe billing, saved routes, and the premium gate. The first version of Stoprover with a real subscription model and persistent route storage.
-
Saved Routes Free
Bookmark any generated route to your My Routes list. Access saved routes offline. Free users can save up to 1 route; Premium users get unlimited saves.
-
Premium Subscriptions Premium
Stripe-powered billing with monthly ($4.99/mo) and annual ($29.99/yr) plans. Manage or cancel anytime through your device’s subscription settings.
-
Mapbox Route Maps
Every generated route now renders a full interactive Mapbox map with your route line and stop markers. Static map previews on saved route cards.
Backend stability and real POI data. Switched to Google Places for live business hours, added OpenStreetMap Overpass as a fallback, and hardened the free-tier rate limiter.
-
Google Places Integration
Real-time open/closed checks for every suggested stop. Routes only include places verified open at your estimated arrival time.
-
Free-Tier Rate Limiting
3 routes per month, 2 stops per route on the free plan. Usage tracked server-side by device ID — no account required.
Initial launch. Natural language route generation powered by GPT-4o-mini. Type where you’re going and what you’re interested in — Stoprover builds the rest.
-
Natural Language Route Requests
Describe your trip in plain English. GPT-4o-mini parses your intent, identifies stop categories, and builds a real navigable route around them.
